Printing with PLA and ABS onto Polycarbonate
February 18, 2014 07:59PM
Hi, just noting this as I haven't seen much documentation about printing ABS onto polycarbonate. With PLA I've been lightly oiling the bed and getting very high adhesion, no problems there, but may when I have the money and
time switch to glass, time will tell. Now though, after accidentally purchasing a roll of black ABS from Amazon UK (Sain Smart 1.75mm black ABS) decided to dry it on a heated bed at 60C, still using the polycarbonate (but cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol first). I was surprised at how well this seems to be working (for the one day I've been trying it). I know that people have printed ABS onto Acrylic but I don't remember reading about it on polycarbonate. Could anyone who's had experience printing onto polycarbonate with PLA
or ABS please document their results in some small way, as I'm intrigued to see whether it's being used on a regular basis by anyone. Especially is people could tell me what temperatures they've been using on the bed.

Thanks,

Sam
