Hi.

Are there any opinions on whats best for the X and Y axis? M8 threaded rod or T2 belt?

Belt, or proper high speed leadscrews. Threaded rod isn't fast enough. For a printer , belts are perfectly adequate and cheaper than screws.

Any printers using lead screws for x and y? I asked about this a while ago, and there are some issues. I'm talking Cartesian style, not delta BTW.

OK, thanks.

I didn't get the speed nor the accuracy on my prints.

The re-building has begun. grinning smiley

Maybe I'll order some screws and run some tests

I went from M8 rods on the X & Y axis to belt. The speed is uncomparable. Another thing is the smootheness. Now I need to calibrate/finetune.

M8 is fine, but slow. Expect a maximum of 1000 mm/min or 17 mm/s. Better (and still affordable) are Tr10x3, even a bit more precise and up to 40 mm/s. Accordingly it's recommendable for applications where you need the precision, only.
