"cold extrusion prevented"

Need help with a new build. I have just completed my printer and all appears to work properly except when I try to extrude filament to check the extruder, I get the message “cold extrusion prevented”
I did not receive my hot end yet so I have a 40W heater and a thermistor connected to the ramps board ( the thermistor is taped to the heater with kapton tape and appears to be working fine)
The bed and hot end are reaching the temp set. But I can’t get it to extrude filament
I am using a Arduino and ramps 1.4 board with a 12 V supply

Thank you it worked.

I am still new to the 3D world. Still don't understand why it won't extrude when it says the temps have reached the set point.

Thank you again

What was the set point of the hot end? Perhaps you had it set lower than the cold extrusion limit configured in the firmware.
