My name is Michael Gorski and I am the owner and founder of Filament Innovations, LLC located in Bethlehem, PA. We are a small start-up company that is 100% focused on open source 3D Printing technology. This company was created to spread the word on open source printing and help develop new 3D Printing technologies.
One thing we wanted to do, as many others want, is to find a high quality filament for our RepRap machines to enjoy. We have worked very closely with a manufacturer in China to produce filament that is 100% pure in ABS (actual percentage is 99% with a continuing decimal, we rounded it up) and we are happy to say we have finally received our inventory, and the filament is awesome! We know standard ABS/PLA filament vendors are a dime a dozen anymore and the market is flooded with competition, therefore we have taken the next step to assist in developing exotic filaments.
To help our company stand out from the many others, and as a personal belief of mine, transparency is key. People should have the right to know every detail of the product they are purchasing - we used this approach in developing our exotic filaments. We currently have the following exotic filaments:
Our exotic filaments contain the real material additive. They are not colored or dyed metal to make it appear that way (except for our Gold Metalfill).
Carbon Fiber ABS - 20% Carbon Fiber and 80% ABS
Bamboofill - 20% Bamboo and 80% PLA
Copperfill - 10% Copper and 90% PLA
Bronzefill - 10% Bronze and 90% PLA
Gold Metalfill - 10% Metal and 90% PLA - Note that gold coloring is added to the filament here and it uses metal powder
Beyond the filament listed above... we also have Conductive, three forms of color changing ABS, and a plethora of standard, transparent, and fluorescent options to choose from.
In order to remain transparent with everyone as to how the business works, we have teamed up with Amazon to offer our products. We currently have our filament in multiple Amazon DCs located across the country. This ensures anyone with an Amazon Prime membership can enjoy two day shipping on our filament, If you do not have an Amazon Prime membership, we have also created an eBay Store to to cross-sell our filament. All filament sold through the eBay store is fulfilled by Amazon and usual delivery is 3-5 business days.
