Your best bet is to download the latest version of Marlin, and then go through the configuration.h file and enter the parameters that would suit your printer, then use arduino IDE to flash to the new melzi board. Sure its a bit daunting at first but you soon work out what the various setting do.

What have you tried so far?

Okay its not programming, its just configuration, there are lots of guides online to help you through it. Someone might have nearly the same printer to give you a configuration.h file but it won't be precisely right. The firmware you get with a kit is never exactly right.

What is the error? At what point does it go wrong?
Can you upload it to the board?
If you can what happens next, do your endstops work, do you axes move?

even after uploading the printer doesnt work/acts like nothing is uploaded on it, the LCD stays blank, and the board doesnt have a LED on either.

i have been working on this for about a month and a half with no success. I stumbled on this today [forum.repetier.com] and tried to upload it but they only give the config file. nothing else. tried to upload with repieter website to make new firmware and its not going through

When you upload using arduino IDE (use the latest version) does the message say it successfully uploads?
Where are you based, this sounds like a problem that would be possibly easy to fix in person but hard to fix over the forum.

Well I'd help but I'm 3000 miles away. Anyone here have melzi board experience?

I was able to get ahold of the supplier of my printer and they sent me a zip file that had the firmware in it and other files. when I try to compile it I get this error now....

f2 = HAL::readFlashByte((const prog_char*)&nofilter);
