Issac Production Help

Hey everybody

Some of you may remember me from last week, but for those of you who do not, I am interested in getting my first 3D printer.

After much consideration, I have decided to build myself an Isaac Rep-strap.

I have the source for my Laser-cut parts, hardware, and stepper motors decided on.

So now I need an extruder (Wades geared extruder looks the best), a motor for the extruder (I am clueless on what to get), and electronics.

So my questions for you awesome people are:

1. What type of motor should I get for wades geared extruder?

2. Where do I get other parts for the wire/hardware of the extruder?

3. What type of FULLY ASSEMBLED electronics should I get and from where? **(I need a direct link to a website because I am having trouble)**

4. Is there anything else that I need to make a Mendel?

I really hope you guys can help me, the wiki and forums have not been helpful just searching for answers.

Oh and I FAIL at soldering of pretty much any kind so PLEASE only fully assembled electronics. Or mostly assembled.

Oh and thanks for all your help, sorry for all the time-consuming posts.

Thanks so much.

Adam

Nema 17, as high of torque as you can afford search stepper motor in the wiki for a good guide

In the US McMaster Carr is a good place online, locally just search industrial supply in google maps, ask if they have metric screws and springs. 4 local places in my little city.

In the US, Makerbot is the most trusted source (rarely quality issues), but you have to modify the boards a good bit.
Techzone requires no modification, but they have ad quality issues in the past
There are 2 other sources of electroncis, one is on Ebay, but don't know anything about them, and the other is out of europe. Again can't rememeber.

Search Mendel unoffical on youtube. I recorded the full mechanical build of a Mendel there. go by the BOM, it covers everything, and if it doesn't, add the stuff that got missed and re upload it smiling smiley
