I have a completed set of gen2 electronics and intend to build a Mendel gantry - are there any reasons why this won't work and am I correct that I'll need to start with the firmware in the Darwin build instructions?
I believe Gen 2 has a DC Motor driver for the extruder, but the Mendel design uses a stepper for the extruder. So, you need to replace the DC Motor driver with a 4th stepper driver. Otherwise, everything should work.
