Problem programming Sanguinololu 1.3b

Using latest Sprinter source. Arduino 1.0.1 IDE. Have the Sanguino hardware device copied into the Arduino software. Firmware compiles fine. Go to upload using the "reset button trick" and it will not work under any timing circumstances. I get these errors:

avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0xee or 0x00
avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x23 or 0x21, or whatever depending on when exactly I press reset.

Anyone have any ideas? Keep in mind, I'm a noob. I have never programmed an AVR or used a Arduino board either. Also, I may be missing something really stupid like "OH! You forgot to put a jumper on xxx" or "OH! you don't have the right programmer type selected!".... or whatever. So, assume the worst.

Appreciated.

Not In Sync means, there's confusion on the transmission line. So far I never could pin down a real reason for these, usually I unplug the USB adapter from the PC and try again. Might be an issue with your PC's USB-Serial driver, make sure the right one is installed.
