Printer non-reactive to loaded Print File

Hi all,

I seem to be having a slew of problems, and would appreciate any help/advice or references yall could give to a newbie.

I'm running a reprap with the pre-compiled "Printrun-Win-Sli3er July-12-2013" package.

My print is the 20mm cube from thingiverse.

--- The printer will infrequently only update the temp in the console without moving to the start position of the print. (ref image: Printer not printing) and nothing will happen beyond that. I have control over the printer until I ask it to print, then it only gives me temp updates.

--- The only way to get the printer back under control is to pause the print and press the reset button on the board.

I have no idea what is causing this. Even a point in the right direction would be appreciated.
