Waiting for 27/4 batch of Mendel Prusa from the reprapkitstore?

I'm waiting for my Batch 2 Mendel Prusa. Got an email yesterday saying that it now won't ship till Friday 4th May

Still waiting...

Sent an email asking if it will be shipped today and got following reply: -

We are still on track to ship as planned.

We will be updating you later with tracking numbers.

Due to supplier issues we will be shipping these kits with Sanguinololu electronics and not the Melzi electronics as advertised. As I am sure you are aware Sanguinololu and Melzi electronics are the same design, the only difference being the board layout and the integrated micro SD card on the Melzi. We will therefore be including the SD add on card which adds the SD card function to the Sanguinololu boards. Rest assured this will not effect your machine in any way, both boards even use the same firm ware.

is this a stock reply, did anyone else chase their shipment today?

Now Tuesday 8th May. No email with tracking numbers arrived last week. James also has not answered my email today.

James, I guess you are busy but please let me know what is going on.

Same here, still waiting for a response

Just received and opened a large box from thereprapkitstore. I am very impressed by the quality of the printed parts as we're my work colleagues. The electronics and belts are to follow, apparently. This should keep me busy this weekend.

Other stuff is also not inluded so far, namely heated bed and some other bits and bobs.

Yeah I'm also still waiting for the same batch. We're almost at the date to ship the 3rd batch.

I sent a couple of emails and last one I got back was stating that I would receiving a tracking number later, didn't get anything - sent an email to inquire and got no reply.

This really doesn't give me a lot of hope that I'll actually get anything.

Glad to know that someone is getting something at least, still no response and no sign of a delivery here.

I wouldn't go that far just yet. Getting production up and running with this many component parts is not easy. I've done it myself in the uk and using far eastern sub contract manufacturers so I do feel James's pain. He could help us with a little better communication though. He doesn't need to email us all personally but he could post to his web site.

James needs to realise that being fully open and honest can only help. It's hard for him because I guess this is all a big risk for him and bigger than it is for us as I guess lines of credit for small startups can't be easy to come by.

I'm happy to cut him slack as what he's offering is as good as anyone else but at a much lower price.

I understand that it may difficult to get everything organised but we had a dispatch date April 27th which has been and gone.

We then received an email 3 days after the original dispatch saying its going to be a week late (Ok, no problem. I was hoping that my kit had arrived by now but a weeks extra wait is not too bad).

So we waited for the next date May 4th, we then received another email stating everything is going as planned (but electronics had to be changed, which again I wasn't really fussed about) and we will be getting tracking numbers later which we still haven't.

It just feels like we're being strung along for a ride. You personally only received part of the kit and most likely the cheaper parts.

Communication is key in situations like this which he appears to just ignore. Yes the kit is fairly cheap, but an email updating us all the status would be great and probably not take that long.

If he turns around and says "Having problems with sourcing parts, going to be delayed a couple of weeks" I really wouldn't have an issue.

Anyways, here's to hoping we all get our lovely RepRaps. I suppose I'm just eager to finally own one.

Quick update, just received a package from the RepRap Kit Store printed parts seem of good quality.

Missing belts, hobbed bolt, electronics, pcb heat bed, glass, limit switches.

Also received a letter of apology and that they hope to ship missing parts within a week. *fingers crossed* well time to start building .

No wonder, I believe thereprapkitstore outsource the making of repraped parts to n0phead, whose printed parts quality is legendary.

I've sent an email to James asking for any news regarding delivery but as yet no answer.
Sounds like we are all on stop now awaiting the rest of the parts.

Now I'm really confused. Just got this email from James at the reprap store: -

These kits will arrive with us Tuesday (Monday is a bank holiday here in the UK) we will be shipping the remaining parts as soon the boards arrive. So these should be delivered Wednesday / Thursday.

Anyone got any idea what's going on? The Monday to which he is referring was last Monday 7th May. So, is he talking about the kits, which we got last week minus the electronics arriving last week or does he mean the electronics is arriving this week?

Just got the same message and if I am reading it correctly, he should have recieved the boards last week and we should have them tomorrow or Thursday. It is confusing though.

Almost sounds like an old email, unless he means June 4th.

You're probably right, maybe from the previous batch.

James really does need to work on his communication skills!

I've just raised a PayPal dispute over the order. I put my mobile number in the dispute explanation so, hopefully, he will talk to me directly. I didn't request my money back or anything but just explained that I want to know when the balance of my machine would be shipped.

All this for the cost of a few emails to keep your customers informed of the position, not a good commercial move which is a shame as the kit recieved so far is good.

Please keep us informed how you're getting on, I doubt we'll hear anything useful from James.

Just read the rules for paypal and you only have 45 days from making the payment to lodging a dispute, after that if you don't get your stuff it's to late. That means that I only have a few days before I will be forced to open a dispute also. Something to think about I guess.

Just got a shipping notification from thereprapkitstore.com. Not sure what's in the shipment or if it completes my ABSPrusa or not. Will have to wait until next week, I guess.

Just checked I've got email from James about shipment as well. Fingers crossed I hope it's the rest of the kit. Little concerned as it doesn't mention what's being shipped :/.
