Bed heating message

Hi guys, I am new to forums in general as I can normally muddle through, but am getting desperate now, hope you can help.

I have a BQ Prius i3 Hephestos, which I have a few traumas with but I will update you later. I have finished the construction of my printer and it all appears to be ok.

My current problem is a message I get when I have selected the file I want to print from the SD card. Everything is loaded up, I select my file then a 'Bed Heating' message appears, but I don't have a heated bed.

I have messed around with various settings to no effect so I am guessing I may need to do something with the Ramp board.
Can anyone help, it will be much appreciated.
Best regards
John

What are you using to slice the models?

In Cura have you unchecked "Machine" -> "Machine Settings" -> "Heated Bed"

In Slic3r "Filament Settings" -> "Bed" set to 0

Hi Steve, sorry it seems my last message was not posted!!!???

Using Cura

As far as I can tell I have unchecked all boxes and set to zero all that I can but no difference.

I have connected my laptop but the printer is not showing at the USB port, putting the SD card in shows the files available but still won't print them.

Is there a way of synchronizing the printer with the laptop?
Thanks
John

Did you set the thermister type to 0 in Marlin?

#define TEMP_SENSOR_BED 0

Hi Steve, the answer is no, I think, I can't find any thermistor settings.

You will have to tell me how to do this, I'm not too savvy with this sort of thing.
Thanks

It's a firmware setting in Marlin's configuration.h file which you upload to the Arduino/RAMPS or similar.
If your printer board came pre-loaded then that should have been set by the kit maker.
