Hello,
I have a STL file I want to print in to parts, I am using cura 15 to print and generate gcode
Is there some way to tell it to cut an stl into a top half and bottom half.

You can use
netfabb Basic
to slice an STL file into parts (and for a lot of other useful functions).

Slic3r has the ability to divide an STL model into top and bottom parts, and optionally flip one before slicing them.
