firmware install for gen6

hey
im trying to uplaod firmware to my new gen6 electronic that i got on ebay :

im thinking it has a bootloader on it because windows installed drivers for it,
ive downloaded and installed arduino and sanguino and ive open the fiveD firmware but it still wont upload i just keep getting this error message in arduino

Binary sketch size: 23612 bytes (of a 63488 byte maximum)

avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00
avrdude: stk500_disable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x51

ive used both arduino 022 and then 018 and still no luck,

repsnapper doesnt recongnise the printer so i dont think that there is a revious firmware on it at all

any help getting this working would be great

it probably has makerbot firmware on it. try it with replicatorg. modifications are done with machines.xml file.

also sanguino with sd card (motherboard 1.2), requires power external other than usb to power up mpu properly. the usb powered FTDI will be detected and enumerated with windows no matter what. it is usb powered.

gen 6 still looks like it requires separate power 12-24v. the usb powered FTDI will be detected and enumerated with windows no matter what. it is usb powered.

i found out that it doesn't have the bootloader on it at all , so i have bought a programmer , the guy who sells these on ebay has since started putting the bootloader and firmware on it
