Health Check on Electrical Servo Drives
July 08, 2014 03:25PM
Dear members
I wonder if I could have an expert advice. I have got to visit a site where 110 odd servo drives some B and R, some Bosch rexroth are installed.

I have been told that they are having problems with the servos and they would like me to perform a thorough health check. I have been told that drives are very old and electronics might required to be updated

Could I request the experts to advise please:
1) what are the things to investigate to evaluate
the performance and life of the electrical
servo drives? A advisory checklist would be
appreciated.
2) Why are the wear and tears in electrical servo
drives over extended use of 25 years?
3) What are the key features/parameters which
could be increased to get more life out of
these drives?

Thank you members

Not exactly a detailed description. As mechanical and electrical equipment isn't a living being I see no point in doing "health checks". Instead, looking at and attempting to solve these particular problems is IMHO the way to go. As you detect and solve issues, you can check the other drives wether they show similar (mis-)characteristics.
