On the ramps page it says it has unused spi and i2c ports for expansion and I was wondering if this touch screen would work with it (it uses spi).Was hoping to use it with SD ramps just to make it autonomous from my laptop.

I am not aware of any firmware that supports this at the moment. However, you can use a rotary encoder and 20x4 LCD display with Marlin today.

With SD ramps, you have an autonomous printer.
