OK to cut off pins near the limit switches?
August 27, 2012 05:23PM
Hi,

I've bought a pre-built RAMPS 1.4 board. I ordered some Molex connectors to connect my wires to the pins but it turns out they are too wide to fit where two sets of pins are next to each other :-(
[www.rapidonline.com]

Looking at the wiring diagram on the wiki, it looks like the limit switches only use every other set of pins in that block. Can I cut off the spare pins to make my connectors fit, or will I a) break something or b) reduce my options for later? What are those other pins used for, if anything?

Thanks,

Gerv

... there should be two sets of pins per axis, so you have the possibility to use two limit switches on either end of the moving range ...
