Ramps causing issue with computer.

So to day I installed my ramps 1.4 into my laser cutter and everything works flawlessly except when I use my 8 ft USB. At the moment i have a 1 ft USB which connect to Pronterface, but when i try the 8ft i get this error.

So at this point I thought it was my arduino mega board, but after unplugging it from the ramps the board was able to connect to the computer no problem. To add i did remove the D1, because my laser runs off 24V.

Here a pic of my device manager

Thanks for the help!!!

What does the 5V rail show, when you feed the arduino through this loooong USB cable? I suspect to much voltage drop over the USB cable.
Since you already cut out D1, you could feed the arduino with a solid 5V source instead.

The long USB cable show 5.34v at the opp end. But my laser power supply has steady 5v supply, my multimeter show 5.22v off the laser power supply. I added a picture of how i have the power going into the ramps board.

Again thanks for the help!
