Overheating

Hey guys, new user here.

So I put together a p
rusa i3 but I'm having 2 issues. I tried searching but came up empty handed.

First issue is I'll set the temp of the board to say, 185 using pronterface however the temp will just keep climbing. I tried updating to the latest firmware and reinstalling pronterface and nothing seems to work. Thermistor is reading temp and everything seems to be wired correctly. This happened after installing a new ramps board (old one wasnt driving x axis stepper correctly).

What would cause it to not react to thermister? I'm thinking maybe something is wrong with the arduino board it's self?

Are you sure that you connected the hotend to the right output pins? (... and e.g. not to the fan output)

Are you sure that that the metal tops of the MOSFETS do not touch each other?

Posting a picture of your setup sometimes helps.
