Swap out RAMPS, no Z movement

My old RAMPS board has some issues, like the extruder heater connections sometimes cuts out... I have tried swapping it out with a new RAMPS and everything works except I get no movement from the z motors. It all still works on the old board. Any suggestions on how to get the Z axis working with the new board?

Check the soldering under the Z stepper driver module and the 4 pin connectors

lets just disregard that it used to work...

swap the stepper drivers between Y an Z, does the fault stay Z or move to Y.

NB never unplug stepper drivers or stepper motors while they are powered. This tends to kill stepper drivers.

re upload your firmware... sometimes it just doesn’t upload correctly

check your endstop status (M119) make sure it doesn't think that z max is triggered (it wont move up if it is)
