4 first layers perfect, then a mess.

4 first layers perfect, then a mess.

I have this problem with my Prusa i3 where the first 3-4 layers would be perfect smooth, really good looking actually but then after it's a mess.

It looks like the extrusion is way to little but it only accours when the tool gets accelerated at high speed. (In the middle of the 40x40x mm box i'm printing). The perimeters looks good. I tried to hold a bit on to the filament while it gets pushed in, and it's getting smoothly in with no "stops" or whatever.

I use a bowden gregs wade type extruder with a 0.3mm J-Head nozzle. 1.75mm white PLA.

I attached some pictures showing it. I took of the print before it cooled down and thats why it's uneven.

Printet with 100 infill 70 perimeter and 40% at first layer. As you can see in picture nr 2, the extrusion is smooth in the first layers, and again i pulled of the print before it was cooled down and thats why it's curled.

Looks like its happening with the infill layers - you may be trying to print too fast

Same thing happends if the infill is printed at 70. wich is the speed i print the perimeters with.

Could i be my acceleration settings? It only seems to happend when the tool gets accelerated.

I believe ' waitaki' is correct... too fast. But that may only be one of the issues at hand.

Sometimes bumping up the flow rate when you want to print fast seems to help.

change infill speed to 40 or 45 - some PLA struggles at faster speeds
