E3D Hotend Holder
February 07, 2015 12:13PM
Hi:
Hoping someone can tell me what I need to do. I have a Mendalmax 1.5 in which I am using the Bowden design for extruding the filament. I have made a holder for the E3D using [www.thingiverse.com]. When I heat up the hotend up to 200c the holder gets hot and pliable allowing the hotend to move around. I have made the holder out of PLA. Is this the problem or do I need to insulate the hotend for the holder somehow. I currently do not have a way to print ABS (due to pet issues).

Are you using the heat sink fan with the extruder? I keep the fan that came with my e3d mkV on durning all printing which keeps the hotend hot and the aluminum heat sink cold
