Improving edge quality NEED ADVICE

So I have gotten a bit better at this 3d print after i got the defective hardware sorted out and i'm ready to optimize my settings.

I am printing pla at 192....I tried lowering temps to 187 in an effort to improve the edge quality and eliminate stringing between openings.

Reducing temps alone hasn't fixed the edge quality but it did help with the stringing. I've read retraction settings in slicer can be adjusted to fix the crispness of the edge.

Can anyone offer some insight on new numbers to plug in to optimize quality.

the retract speed is something some extruders will not like, you could set it to 22 wich is the maximum I could get out of my geared setup, if you have a direct drive then leave it.

a fan could also help pointing at the print.

that would be my first things to check

I will look into the type of extruder I have..its a prusa i3.

You recomend adding a secondary fan aside from the one on the extruder?
