Optimal Layer height

What should I set for my layer height, first layer and successive after? I have a Prusa i3 with a .4mm nozzle. Micro stepping is set to 1/16th if that is relevant.

Go here and look for the optimal layer height. You're probably safe with a target height of anything from .15 or maybe lower to about .3mm.

0.3 and under try to avoid 0.05 increments ie 0.25 0.15 0.35 as it adds error into your print if its m5 threaded bar

Other than taking into account the threaded Z-axis of your printer, are there any other concerns to consider for setting your layer height? For instance, I am have a delta-style printer, so I shouldn't be effected by the 0.15, 0.25, and 0.35 mm issues.
