Quality issue with ABS prints (shrinking)
August 09, 2013 06:48AM
Hello Reprappers!

My printed parts' first layers shrink extremely (up to a height of 5-6 mm).
Printed material is ABS, heated-bed temperature 110°C; extruder temperature 220°C.
The parts' first layer sticks well to the heated bed.
Please also see the image attached.

How can I prevent shrinking and improve the quality of the print?

Try to lower the bed temperature after the first layer, I had the same issue, and it was fixed by setting bed tempereture to 95 degrees for all but the first layer, which I kept at 110 degrees.
