Hi Guys,
I am trying to print a 20mm x 20mm wall 10mm hight and 0.4mm thick.
I have prepared a model in Solidworks and run it through netfabb (011.0001.013_fixed1.stl). Then I run into the first problem. I loaded the file into the Slic3r 0.9.10b and noticed that it only sees a half of it (Slic3r0910b.png) I then loaded it to the new Slic3r 1.0.0RC1 where it looks fine ( Slic3r100RC.png) however when the file is loaded to the Pronterface the print lines are rippled ( PronterfaceafterSlic3r100RC.png). I took the model back to solidworks and rounded the edges with 0.4 radius as I noticed Slicer was trying to make the sharp corners. Now the new file ( 23059 011.0001.014_fixed.stl) went through the same process. There is still the same problem with rippled lines (rippledlinesafterSlic3r100RC.png). During the print it results in buzzing noise and the quality is poor. Do you know what is causing the rippling? I have noticed that when I derease resolution they get bigger!
I have been trying to print this part to calibrate the machine but it is getting from bad to worse. I have consequent problem with collapsing corners ( WP_001440.jpg) This is printed in ABS
I have tried the following
temp extruder: 240-250 first layer 230/240 after.
temp bed: 115 first layer/110 after
print speeds :16 - 40mm/s
layer heights: 0.2 - 0.32mm
I have two fans built in and I have tried with them on and off, and half way through and the problem with corners is always there.The bigger boxes (30mmx30mm) had 1.2mm thick bottom that was nice and flat with pretty good finish in most of the cases but the thin wall corners failed every single time.
I am going in circles now so counting on you now :-)
