airtripper bowden extruder is slipping suddenly

My printer (delta-pi) is suddenly slipping on the filament. When I tighten the screws the stepper motor itself starts slipping. This slipping starts a couple of minutes into the print. This is especially strange since it worked perfectly for a dozen of prints. I use an MK7 gear. Cleaning it did not help.

One option would be to buy an MK8 gear (that has more torc), but since it worked perfectly in the very recent past, I would like to get it going again with this extruder and gear. Any ideas to how to solve this?

Could you post a picture of your extruder? It might help if we can see what exactly you're working with. My first instinct if this is the first time this has happened is that your hotend is clogged, causing the extruder to not be able to push the filament through.
