Slic3r 0.9.8 forcing perimeter speed to 17mm/sec or F1024.596

Hi,

I'm new to the forum. And I tried my best searching an answer here before I posted here, but still can't find an answer. If this has been answered already, my apologies, and please point me to the link.

My problem:

Slic3r is always forcing my perimeter speed to 17mm/s as its maximum, this only happens for perimeters (just walls) that doesn't have an infill.
I did set my perimeter speed to 120mm/sec, It works ok if it has an infill. But it will force the speed back down to 17mm/s (F1024.568 in the gcode file) for perimeters that doesn't have an infill, I have no idea why it keeps doing that. I find it very strange.

I will use this vase (see .stl) as a sample. I also attached my gcode, and a screen snapshot.

Would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide. I hope you can help me please.

Thank you very much.

-Monty

What are your speed settings in Slic3r?

I am guessing that the min time per level is affecting the output speed. If your layer will print faster than what you have this set at it will overide your speed setting so the layer will have time to cool before the next layer.

Hi Bob & Slipshine, thank you for taking time on this.
I'm uploading my screenshot as Bob requested, and yes they are set to 120mm/s.

I'm not home at this time, but I will check if Cooling is enabled, I'll disable it and try to reslice again and advise.

Re: Slic3r 0.9.8 forcing perimeter speed to 17mm/sec or F1024.596 (SOLVED!)

Slipshine,

As what you though, it's the cooling. I disabled it and now I am able to print at full speed.
I'm now seeing in the gcode that the perimeter speed are now F72000, which is 120mm/s.

This was actually drove me nuts for almost a month.

Greatly appreciate your assistance folks.
