How can I improve this print??

Hi, Been trying to get to grips with Skeinforge but decided to come back to Slic3r. I'm new to repraps and Slic3r so any help would go a long way.

I've got a reprappro mendel and am getting these results you see in the pictures. Could anyone advice on what settings need changing in Slic3r?

1. Bad corner. It seems to be really uneven in one corner, the others are not the best but this side is always bad. How can I improve this?

2. Banding on some layer. What causes this and how can I improve it?

3. Finish. The finish seems to be bad, what the best settings to improve it?

Also, can I change the side the prints start from in slic3r i.e. the bottom of the object, not the side?

Problem 3 looks like your extruding too much plastic. Check extruder calibration, if calibrated lower the flow amount.

I've checked my calibration and it was fine, I'll check the flow amount.

Will a lower number on the flow give less blobs?

the ugly corner looks like it did not stick to the bed....
The walls I guess are uneven flow, maybe hobbed bolt or lost steps on extruder. Nothing to get cured in slic3r...
