Slicer stopping extruder during bridging

during the fabrication of a bridge the last few strings will not be extruded.
the printer keeps moving to create the bridge, but the extruder does not.
i have my brige flow ratio set to 0.96
and retraction on 3 (bowden setup)
is it possible that this could have something to do with that?
