Calibrating Z with Proximity Sensor

Hi.

I'm trying to modernise. I've been using Cura 15 since forever. You know - familiarity and all that. I tried Cura 4.5, but stone me, it is SLOW. I mean, it seems to take 5 seconds to respond to a button press. It bugs me that the preheat options aren't always available. Half the time the It takes a few seconds just to load a menu of options.

Anyway, I like Slic3r. However, I can't run my Z-calibration process. Because the buttons on my Anet are quirky, I like to programatically drop the nozzle to the thickness of a piece of paper, Give it G92 Z0 and G30 to test the trigger distance.
G30 returns the Z offset, but I can't find the terminal in Slic3r where I can see the response from the printer.

Is there a console / terminal in Slic3er? If not, It's out and I'll go with Repetier.

Thanks.
