Pibot fan control problem
April 25, 2014 10:09AM
I just bought a Pibot electronics kit to try out for my CNC router and am having a slight issue. I was able to upload the firmware, connect to repetier host, and home and move the axes of my machine. The problem I'm having is with control of the fan port which I use to switch on/off an SSR that is connected to my router. When I turn on my 24V supply to the pibot board, the router powers on for about 3 to 5 seconds and then turns off. When I try to turn the router on with an M106 s255 or "enable fan" command, nothing happens. I checked the voltage at the fan terminal and nothing happens when I try to enable the fan. I'm very used to Marlin and this is my first time using the Repetier firmware. Is there something in the firmware that I am not seeing that needs to be changed?

I ended up getting it to work. I'm not sure why this worked but it did.

#define EXTRUDER_FAN_COOL_TEMP 0

I dropped the temp from 50 to 0. I thought this would just leave the router on all the time and was trying it out as a test. It ended up giving me full m106/m107 control.
