Anyone used GCodePrintr?

Has anyone used it with there Mendel90, if so what's it like? I like the idea of using my tablet to control the printer without having to use my laptop.

I've downloaded the app and tried to print with it, I sliced the object with SF, loaded the file to an SD card and loaded it into the app. When I tried to print though the head moved to the center but did not move down to the bed, and tried to print in mid air. Any ideas on how to sort this? Does SF add the custom GCode When you Slice it?

Thanks

Hi :-)

as written by email, the problem is because the initial Z movement command is missing a whitespace (G1Z0.05 & G1Z0.3). Looks like the gcode parser cannot cope with that.
Workaround is to simply add a whitespace between G1 and Z coordinates / update your start/stop gcode in skeinforge.
I will see if I can fix the problem and push it into the next release.

Thanks for the feedback

Mathias

Thanks Mathias,

It worked a treat after the changes, great app.

I've attached some pictures of it working and the test print.

Thanks

Hi, did you have to use a special USB cable to connect the tablet to the printer? Did you have to configure anything on Android to have the tablet act as a USB host?

Thanks!

Hi Paf78,

you need a USB-OTG cable and an Android device which supports USB-OTG (most devices do support OTG, but not all).
You don't need to configure anything on Android.

Mathias
