my fan on my mendel90 is broken, i bought a new one, but this has only 2 wires.
do i need the tacho signal, or what the 3rd wire is used for?

The third wire is indeed the tacho signal but it isn't used. It connected to pin 15 of the D-type, which is not connected to the ribbon cable.
