Speed control at beginning of prints
February 11, 2015 08:42AM
Hi, whenever I am trying to print some stuff that would start with small circles at the first layer, I fail miserably. I have the impression that the print head is moving to fast which could be a reason for small structures (that are not straight) not sticking to the glass properly. The problem is reprocudable, any kind of calibration is not having any positive impact.
Even in case it is not the speed, does anybody know how to reduce the printing speed for the first 5-10 layers? Is it a setting in the slicer (I am using SKEINFORGE)?

Thanks a lot,
/Harald

You can change the speed of the first layer with the speed tab. It is already half speed. Be sure to keep feed and flow rates in sync.

I don't think there is any need to go slower after the first layer.
