Sent Private Messages can only be deleted

In the Private Messages section of the forums each individual has by DEFAULT two folders: Sent and Inbox.
Additional folders can be created by the user and any items in the Inbox or any of the created folders can be DELETED or MOVED. BUT items in the Sent folder can ONLY BE DELETED?

WHY? Why is this folder treated differently?

Messages I have sent are just as likely that I want to save to a particular folder of my choosing...

What happens when you create subfolders under sent? Can you move sent posts into those?

It is not possible to create subfolders.
You can create folders, they are always at the top level.
