G-Code Console going mad!!!
April 10, 2015 08:14AM
Hi I am in the process of printing Erik's overhang test winking smiley and have noticed that the Console is constantly giving the same warning
"Warning: Tools can only be driven if their heater temperatures are high!"

I have T0 (active) set at 195C and T1 (standby) at 155C

I am using a 2 nozzle ormerod with 108c-zpl firmware and web control 1.05

any thoughts?

Don't spend any time on this.

I think it is finger trouble on my part, When changing the heater numbering from T1/T2 to T0/T1, I missed and entry in the simplify script section so the g-code file was controlling T1 instead of T0.

At least that is what I think is happening but I don't want to stop the print to find out.

Will the log grow too big and cause problems?
I still have just under 2 hrs to go.

Sorry to waste time
Paul

No, I don't think anything bad will happen unless your PC is low on memory - in that case try to reload the web interface after a while.

I am still getting the console constantly giving the same warning
"Warning: Tools can only be driven if their heater temperatures are high!" -- What does this mean, which tool, which heater?

I have Heater1 T0 (active) -- set at 193C active and 155C standby
T1 (standby) -- set at 194C active and 155C standby

I am using a 2 nozzle ormerod with 108e-zpl firmware and web control 1.06

I thought that I had the settings wrong in simplify3d, but it all looks ok, so I wonder if this is a problem because of a 2 nozzle set up. The error indicates that perhaps a non existent heater is set low!!! but I just can't find any reason why.

Simplify3d is controling T0 and looking at the g-code it seems ok

I'll do some more checking, in the mean time does anything indicate what could cause this problem that you can think of?

It's possible that this is related to your two-nozzle setup. I'll check this next week. Thanks for your report!

Just to let you know

I have just printed an item with the second nozzle in a fault condition ( which I didn't notice at time of print because I was only interested in Heater 1 (T0) for a 1 colour object).

So the error "Warning: Tools can only be driven if their heater temperatures are high!" did not show in the console

Hope that helps
Paul

That's how the code is written, a fault condition does not give rise to the message. I think it should, so I'll change it in my next release.

Regarding your earlier post, my most recent release says which tool was not driven in the error message.
