Maximum length of belts

Maximum length of belts

Hello,

I'm building a CoreXY machine, my first printer which uses CoreXY. I'm wondering how long the belts may be. Normally you have 2 (crossing) belts in a CoreXY printer. So, how long do you think should a single belt be at most?

Are you asking how long they are, Or how long can you get them? The answer to the first question is each belt is roughly the perimeter of the machine, so if the XY dimensions of your machine is 450x450, expect a single belt length to be about 1800mm.

How long can you get them? That would depend on the width of the belt, and the type of belt. 6mm GT2 belt should be fine for most smaller CoreXY's (300x300 or less build plate). But anything more than this, 9mm would fair better in my opinion.

Well I ask (or I try to at least, sorry for bad Englisch) how MUCH I should go with the belts of a CoreXY machine untill it becomes "unstable" in means of print quality, resonances, and so on. In my case I use 9mm belts.

Do you mean by 450x450 the outer dimensions of the printer?
