SD RAMPS. Can I run without a computer?

I have Ramps 1.4 that came with an SD chip (I have not installed). I want to know some stuff before I go through the work.

If I install, can I run without a USB cable hooked to a computer?
If yes, do I need a fancy screen connected to my Aurduino Mega?

i have said fancy screen, but i bet there is a way to program it to just run the stuff on the card when you put it in.

If you call the file auto0.g I believe it will start automatically.
