I extrude ABS at 230. Why go to 250?

ok ... 230 for ABS is also ok - but can't reach this - at 215 is over.
an i also like to print nylon and this is even higher than abs.

do i have to go for 24V for the nozzle ?
is that a problem for the ramps1.3 board ?

thank

Im not sure about the ramps 1.3
I have the 1.4 and 12v has no issues heating to 300c on my all metal hot end.

ramps 1.3 is threw hole components, vs 1.4 which is surface mount. Other than that they are the same

what is the resistance of your Cartridge Heater ?

I'm wondering if you got a 24v Cartridge Heater

As people have melted aluminium with heater cartage’s 600c [www.youtube.com]

Another option is that you have limited the power in firmware [github.com]
These should both be 255.

A further option is you have a half dead FET, that isn’t turning on fully. so check your getting 12v on the D10 outputs

Thanks for your help !

I found m Problem eye popping smiley
The fan ! When i stop the fan with my Finger, the Temperatur

My fan is allways on ... Like in the manual is writen !
So what to do now ? Airstream wrong ? Or put the fan to D9 ?

You should not try to solve something that is not the core of the problem because the hotend should be able to reach print temp with the fan running.

There must be another error and I advice you to seek further to find the core of the problem instead of solve it but not *really* solve it.

Are your electronics ok? Is your PSU putting out enough power? Can it be a faulty ceramic heater cartridge that you are using? Are the hotend wires thick enough? Is the cable plugged in correctly with all wires nice and snug in the ramps hotend connector? etc etc etc

One other thing you could try is to check that your marlin or sprinter firmware used. Check the max temperature set for the hotend.

Also that you have high current wire connected to the heat resistor.

Is your fan wired to the ramps hotend terminals?
