Slicer software with good default values for RepRap Mendelmax

Hi,

I have a Mendelmax1.5, and I have been using Slic3r out of the box with almost default settings, and it works almost ok.

It does however do some weird slicing sometimes, and I am looking for an alternative to try.
But as I am new to 3D printing, I would like a starting point that I can refine, rather than build form the ground up.

Any thoughts ?

Alternatively, does anyone have some preferences/settings files for MendelMax1.5 and a slicer application ?

I unsuccessfully tried one off the internet, and nearly broke the printer as it tried to extrude cold filament.

each MM is unique...you cannot just copy from internet..


you have to learn how that works.


in your case problem waz in start gcode.

also you can activate prevent dangerous extrude in firmware.
