Problem slicing

Hi,

I am trying to print details for i2. Source: [github.com] (as I understand, it is an official one?)
Repetier gives me
10:29:22.412 : Warning: The input file contains a hole near edge 82.000000-84.000000 (not manifold). You might want to repair it and retry, or to check the resulting G-code before printing anyway.
10:29:22.434 : => Processing triangulated mesh
10:29:22.906 : The model has overlapping or self-intersecting facets. I tried to repair it, however you might want to check the results or repair the input file and retry.
10:29:22.920 : => Generating perimeters
10:29:24.341 : => Detecting solid surfaces
10:29:24.429 : => Preparing infill surfaces
10:29:24.431 : => Detect bridges
10:29:24.432 : => Generating horizontal shells
10:29:24.449 : => Combining infill
10:29:24.449 : => Infilling layers
10:29:24.842 : => Generating skirt
10:29:24.844 : => Exporting G-code to C:\Users\Fizpok\AppData\Local\RepetierHost\composition.gcode
10:29:26.203 : Done. Process took 0 minutes and 3.768 seconds
10:29:26.203 : Filament required: 929.9mm (2.2cm3)

And the result (a blue picture of sliced detail) contains gaps.

Any idea what is wrong?

I use ver. 084

There is a great free program called Meshmixer that you can use to repair the model.

I'll take a look, thanks. But as this is supposed to be an "official" set of i2 files (is there another one?), I suspect the problem is not in a model but in how I slice it or in software?

Those where generated 3 years ago!

so many thing where buggy back then, especially open scad.

You need to fix most stl that old.

But also why are you building such an old machine, the I3 is much better.

I need it for "historical reasons".
I can generate working G-codes from Cura, but not from repetier, which may be a hint that it is not in STL.
However, I prefer using Repetier Host (with sli3r)...

Cured with reinstalling / upgrading to new Silc3r

newer slic3r is more tolerate of errors in stl files

Its definitely a stl issue, the error message said so. but as you have found some slicers handle the error better than others

Try running the .stl file through cloud.netfabb.com and see if you can then slice the fixed file. I use this all the time for stl files I pull from thingiverse, etc. and it usually does the trick.
