Help needed with endstops

Help needed with endstops
June 22, 2015 07:08AM
I´m building my prusa i3 and have everything connected but for some reason my endstop don´t work when sending the axis to home. When I use repetier and execute a m119 a can see that all endstop trigger correctly but only the y axis works when pressing the home button.

I´ve tried inverting the endstop max setting in the config.h but this doesn´t help.

Anyone suggestion on what I can do next?

Are those endstop triggered at min or max? You need min endstop for homing.

There are many variables when it comes to end stops.

which way does the X carriage move when you give it a +, left or right?
which side is the x end stop on?

which way does the bed move when you give it a Y +, toward you or away?
is the y end stop at the front or back of the printer?

The Z end stop should be at the bottom and be a min end stop
A Z + should move the carriage up

Then that is the problem I send them to max. I'm going to change them and see. Thanks a lot.

I think the error might be in how I soldered the endstops I follewed [t00tiereprap.wordpress.com] I'm using the simple switches.
Other pictures show only two wires

I followed:
switch ramps wires
1 C S blue
2 NC - black
3 NO + red

Blue beeing the signal wire I guessed.

I don´t like the idea of direct mounting switches. They don´t have a debouncing circuit like the PCB has. I´m not sure, if Marlin has implemented a software debounce?

When you soldered the switches like in the wiki and connected them the right way to the ramps it should work.( blue, red, black from top to bottom )

Did you test, "which pins are what" before you soldered? I have switches, where NC and NO are the other way round.

I have only ever used 2 pins on my endstop switches. Set to NO and connected to S and - on the RAMPS board.

Turns out 2 pins are better then 3 thanks for the solution. It works.
