Beeping on first start up using 12v (Ormerod 2)

Hi all

I have searched and cant find my answer.

I just picked up my first ever printer (Ormerod 2) and began assembly. I got as far as updating the firmware, and SD card and it went smoothly. Everything updated, printer online etc etc.

The issue i have is when i remove the usb, then plug in the 12v supply at the ''Now connect the power supply unit'' stage of commissioning.

There IS Kapton tape insulating the duet.

There IS a jumper at JP10 (ATX_5V_EN)

The hot end fan does not turn on at all

The board gives out a loud continuous beeping noise.

I bought the kit from Radionics (RS) and have read that some of duet boards with these kits are faulty?

Any thoughts or comments? I am currently taking the board out to double check it isn't shorting and will report back.

Rhys

Hi, I suggest you post this on the Ormerod forum. Also I suspect that the beeping noise is coming from the power supply and not the Duet, most probably because of a short between +12V and ground.
