Mendel Problems communicating + hotend temp rising

Hi reprappers.. i have recently bought a reprappro mendel printer, i tested it and everything worked, then i decided to do some extruder calibration it were way off and therefore i had to change firmware, the guy i bought it from didnt have the firmware laying around..

I went on to the reprappro page, read it all downloaded the correct firmware, loaded it on to the board and now comes the "funny" part.

When i connect to the printer, i cant do anything i cant move the axes no communication at all, and at the same time a can see the temp readouts these keeps getting higher and higher. I felt on the hotend and it IS getting hotter.
What have i done wrong is there anyone who has experienced the same thing.

I know i have typed in the right resistor value so thats not the problem
