Extruder issue
October 02, 2016 07:03AM
Hi,

I recently bought a pursa i3 reprap kit online. Attached is a picture of the one I bought. I have assembled it but the motor on the extruder doesn't seem to be working. Initially it did print a little bit but resulted in a mess, not much came out. It also seemed like the filament was being pulled out a little bit rather than pushed in - it only extruded a bit after I applied a bit of force to push the filament. I rotated the extruder round so if it was going the wrong direction, I would now push instead of pull the filament. However, now I don't get any response at all. When I go to motion on the lcd and set mm the motor does nothing. I don't think the motor is broken as I have plunged it in a different socket and it works fine. I have also tried swapping the drivers and got the same result. Does this mean that my motherboard is faulty?

Thanks very much for your time and help.

Are you setting the hotend to temperature? The extruder won't move if temperature is too low.
