Extruder motor does not work

Extruder motor does not work

I've built an AnyCubic Prusa i3. Then I've tried to move the motors from the menu (Prepare > Move Axis > 1mm > X/Y/Z/Extruder). X, Y and Z worked fine, but the Extruder motor did not move. To verify whether the extruder motor (or its connection) is the problem, I've connected it to a different axis - it worked. I've switched the A4988 modules - the one for the Extruder worked fine for a different axis. I wasted the whole day reverse-engineering/verifying the controller board and finding the exact Marlin commit used as a base for the specialized software and analyzing the changes.

Only by reading how to configure Marlin I've noticed an option that prevented the Extruder movement if not heated. I've remounted and reconnected my board, heated the hotend and - surprise - the Extruder motor works.

PS: I'm writing this here as "just for the records", so if other users suffer the same problem can find an answer.
