What do you guys use to build one? I don't want to use mdf because it is heavy.

I actually just started to build one yesterday. I wanted to build one to isolate it from dust in my garage. I will probably eventually add some sort of heating/cooling. I'm using .5" ply for the base, 2x4s for the frame and then acrylic sheet for the other sides. I'm going to seal it all with caulk and spray foam. Its not going to be pretty, though I will put LED strip lighting in the top.

Ps: this will be permanently attached to a shelf, it's not designed to be light/otherwise mobile.

Hi guys,

Well why do you want to build an enclosure ?
To reduce noise ? To prevent wrapping ? Other reasons ?

I built mine solely to protect it from sawdust and whatever else might get it in to it in my shop. My original plan was just to keep it in my study, but we're turning that room into a nursery now. Any benefit other than protecting it is just an added bonus.

Question: I am thinking about adding a temperature control to the enclosure. If I were to, would I be trying to keep it hot or cool? I would just control it from its own arduino, setting the temperature manually.
