Weed Wacker line for extrude material

I was wondering what material weed wacker lines are made from. It can be bought in nearly 3mm size and seems like a ready made easy to get material.

Can anyone give some advice?

Yeah, I tried it years ago before we found out about plastic welding rod. Problem is that it is typically made from polypropylene, which is one of your higher melt temperature polymers. It also tends not to be round.

The killer, though, is that the rolls aren't particularly long and they cost a rather steep multiple per pound what the much better filament you buy from the plastic welding rod people costs.

Since I didn't have any ABS on hand (waiting for my store order) I had to try it!
