Repstrap ok - but fail printing with makerbot HDPE plastic

What I have do:
- a mcWire base (photos here)
- build and tested 3G electronics
- a extruder from makerbot (mk4)
- a HDPE plastic filament from makerbot
- testing and setup XYZ move with replicatorgG
- testing extrusion with replicatorG
- skeinforge downloaded and runnig (and try ABS and HDPE default profile)

Now I want run skeinforge to convert my STL file to G-code.
But I don't have a good profile for my mcWire and this HDPE plastic.

So every printing is bad.

May you help me? Note that I'm a newbie in 3d printing (so a step-by-step guide is a good choice) but I'm a good linux hacker (so basic operation are affordable :-) ).

Thanks in advance for your support.

Here is what I am using. These also work in the latest skeinforge. Good luck!

Hi,

as I wrote in your post:

May you:
- write the exact skeinforge version (which screenshots refer)?
- may you post (for downloading) your skeinforge profile for makerbok HDPE and mcWire repstrap? (for example: may you zip your .skeinforge folder and email to me?)

Thanks in advance.

Do you have any photos of the bad prints?

HDPE is the hardest plastic to work with so you haven't made things easy for yourself by starting with it. It needs a high temperature 220-240C and a lot of force to extrude. It is very easy to break the extruder with it by pushing the barrel out of the PTFE insulator.

I put all my setting, software, photos and a little video of extrusion at this link:

I'm trying to print this: Squeezer

In skeinforge I use profile Extrusion-HDPE (so setting will be these?).

Thanks

I can't play the video, but from the picture that looks like the first layer of a raft: -

The flow rate is too fast for the feed rate. The filament needs to be stretched a bit, whereas the opposite is occurring so it is folding up.

The head needs to squash the filament against the bed to make it stick. What bed are using? The only things I have found to work for HDPE are PE or PP kitchen shopping boards. An example here: [hydraraptor.blogspot.com]

1. How to change the flow rate as you say?
2. I use paper, next I try with PE or PP kitchen shopping boards.

Using makerbot skeinforge and [replibot.blogspot.com] settings with a slow feed rate all go right!!!!

Thanks to everyone!
