Netfabb slices too (right-click, "export slices"), and has an animation player that plays them successively. Dead simple configuration of layer thickness and apart from screen capture, at least one of the slice formats it outputs to is a simple, human-readable polyline list, viewable in any number of free or commercial CAD programs.
